Reboot Idea: Class Standards
Personally what I would want to see from a DB Reboot is more standardization of what the different classes are and what they can/can’t look like.
Which isn’t to say I want every member of a class to look the same. Rather I would like it if, whenever they created a new dragon, they did the following.
- Start with a base mode. This is the plainest, most typical dragon of that Class. No horns or frills on this model, just the core body shape.
- Have set deviations allowed within each Class in terms of builds. Some are bulkier than others, some have longer legs/tails. All within a set limit depending on the Class.
- A collection of allowed ornamentation that can then be added to the dragon. Horns, crests, frills, etc. Each Class has their own collection of allowed ornamentation.
- Allowed colors for the breed. What shades of Blue are allowed for a Sonic vs Energy Class, for example.
- A set Mag Color. This cannot be deviated from, if the dragon isn’t a mutt.
Then once these rules are used to create the “Pure Dragons.” Any dragons deviating from these rules are a Mutt, and are classified as such.
But the fun thing is, very few dragons are pure. So maybe Coershun is 90% Psi-Class, but has features (let’s say his teeth or claws) which are only seen in Sonic-Class dragons. Some dragons can be mostly Pure, to the point where their Mutt-ness is negligent, while others are first generation Mutts. Others are so mixed they’re parent Classes can’t be identified easily.
